Care & Support

The care of each and every individual person is paramount at Hawker Park Primary. Our school aims to provide support and guidance about ethics, values, relationships, and help students engage with the broader community.

We have an established Student Support team consisting of the Principal, the Students at Educational Risk Co-ordinator, a school Psychologist and Chaplain. This team meet weekly to discuss any needs that may have become apparent and to then offer the support to the children and families as needed.

As a team we are able to provide a safe, reassuring and happy environment for the children so they are able to focus on their education whilst growing into happy and healthy individuals who have a great support network of friends and family.

Principal: Dr. Irma Roberts

SEN Co-ordinator: Mrs. Liz Everall – at HPPS Monday to Friday

School Chaplain: Mrs. Alyse Anderson – at HPPS on Thursday and Friday

School Psychologist: Mrs. Sascha Williams – at HPPS every Thursday

In addition to this team, all of our staff are imperative in ensuring a nurturing and safe environment for our students every day.

Values Education / School Chaplain

The Values Education Programme continues to be a priority in our school with classes focussing on three values per term. These values are a combination of those that parents have identified along with the input from the Federal Government. The continuation of the School Chaplain programme has been successful in enhancing our Values Education and catering for the needs of our school community when the needs arise.

The role of the School Chaplain is to:

  • Support children and families who might be dealing with crisis, grief or loss in their lives.
  • Implement the Values Education Program outlined by the Australian Government and utilise the National Values Education Resource.
  • Organise emergency relief such as food hampers.

This program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education under the National School Chaplaincy and Student Welfare Program.
