FROM DR ROBERTS

Our Music assembly last Thursday was a joy to be part of.  The highly talented and confident students, under the guidance of our brilliant music teacher, Branka Subotic and our external specialist teachers, were exceptional.  Congratulations to our musicians who demonstrated their musical SMARTS for us.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to our Athletics carnival – we were very fortunate with the weather on Friday 6 Sept.  The students showed their athletic SMARTS on the day.  Thank you to our hard-working P&C members and all our parents who donated their time in baking for the cake stall and then selling the beautiful sweeties!  We thank Mr Etheridge and all staff for working together to ensure a successful and fabulous day for all.

The interschool Jumps and Throws was held yesterday.  Another gigantic thankyou to Ms Randell, Mrs Dobson and Miss Armstrong who were at school hours before the siren ensuring all was set up and ready for the event.  Again, thank you to all who took part.  The day was wonderful and guest school representatives had nothing but praise for HPPS.

An enormous thank you to our 60 or so school community members who helped Ms Sherriff paint the “blue tree”.  What a fabulous community event in support of mental health awareness.  We congratulate Mrs Sherriff and all those involved.

As this is our final Hawker Headlines for the term, I wish you all a safe and happy holiday.

Staff commence on Monday 7 October for Term 4 and students return on Tuesday 8 October.

BLUE TREE PROJECT

Dear Parents, Carers, and Community Members

I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who generously gave your time and effort to help paint our blue tree as part of the global Blue Tree Project.

Your commitment to this important cause not only made the day a success but also helped spark meaningful conversations about mental health within our community.

The Blue Tree Project is a global initiative with the mission to remind us  of the importance of speaking up when facing mental health challenges. By painting one of our trees blue, we have joined a powerful movement that encourages open dialogue, reduces stigma, and serves as a visual reminder that no one is alone in their struggles.

Our blue tree now stands as a symbol of hope, resilience, and connection, one that will undoubtedly inspire conversations and remind everyone that help is never as far away as it may seem. These blue trees have appeared on every continent, and we are incredibly proud to contribute to this global message right here in our own community.

This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to foster a supportive and caring environment where mental health is prioritised and openly discussed.

Your participation and support make all the difference in helping us create a safe space for everyone.

Thank you again for your unwavering commitment to this cause.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Wattyl for donating the Blue Tree paint.

Together, we are making a real difference.

With  Thanks

Lesley
