FROM MR ETHERIDGE
Today the year sixes left for their much-anticipated annual camp to Rottnest. The weather looks great, and I am sure everyone will have a wonderful time.
We are getting into the final busy weeks of school with swimming commencing next week for our pre-primary, and years 1 & 3. Years 2, 4, 5&6 will be attending in week 8. Please remember that children will be getting changed back at school after swimming this year.
Booklist have been distributed for next year to all parents, and parents with students entering year 4 are also reminded about our JB Hi-Fi portal for laptop purchases.
A big thank you goes to our wonderful P&C for their organisation of the successful colour run at the end of week 4 Events like this are not just great fun, they help raise valuable funds that are then returned to the school to support a myriad of activities, such as covering the cost of our swimming bus over the next two weeks. Thanks P&C.
Today Mrs Jefferies commenced maternity leave and we wish her all the best for the future and her new baby. Mrs Norwood will be replacing Mrs Jefferies in TA 2, year 1 for the remainder of the year.

SCHOOL PROCESSES
Planning for 2024 is well advanced and parents are requested to please inform the school if their children are not returning next year to assist in our class structures. Within our planning for 2024, all students have been asked to create a sociogram of friends to aid teachers and admin develop class lists that are designed with the best interests of all children. Teachers also have dedicated hand over meetings to ensure 2024 teachers have a sound understanding of their new student’s needs from day 1. As always, class lists will be available to parents next year the day before school starts.

The School Board will hold it’s next meeting on Wednesday 22 November. Members of the school community can attend should they wish.

CHAPLAIN’S CHAT
Friendship is an important aspect of life. Our lives are enriched when we are in quality friendships. School friendships play such a critical role in how your child develops emotionally and socially. It affects how much they will enjoy their days at school, which is crucial seeing that they see their school friends 5 out of 7 days in a week.
Quality, healthy friendships help boost a child’s self-esteem, self-confidence and gives them a sense of belonging. Studies have shown that kids who are in great friendships also perform better at school. They have better attitudes about going to school and learning when they are surrounded by great friends there.
