FROM DR ROBERTS

For those who were able to attend, I’m sure you will agree, both our Graduation and Christmas Concerts were amazing!!  As we had last year, our undercover area was filled to beyond capacity! The events were beautifully organised by staff and competently executed by students.  An enormous thank you to everyone involved in these brilliant annual events.

We have very few changes to our staff for next year.  Mrs Tessler will be on leave for 2025 and we welcome Miss Rose Smith for Term 1.  Miss Rose is a long standing past staff member and will be well known to many of you.  We welcome both Mrs Kowol and Ms Sanderson back from leave.

We farewell and sincerely thank Michelle May for her expertise working in our Kindergarten all year.  We also say goodbye to Ms Wheeler and sincerely thank her for teaching science for most of this year.  We wish those leaving all the very best.

This year has been wonderful, led brilliantly by our Year 6 students who have been outstanding role models for all students. The dedication and professionalism of our staff are highly valued by me, and I feel privileged to be the Principal of such an amazing school supported by the School Board, P&C members and parents.   We all know, we are here, working together for the benefit of students, practising respect, kindness and manners.  Remember, “Together We Grow”.

An enormous thank you to everyone.

I wish you all a joyful, holy and safe Christmas and holiday and look forward to a happy and productive 2025 beginning for students on Wednesday 5 February 2025.

SCHOOL PROCESSES

We are planning to update how we manage the nomination and voting processes for our School and Faction Captions to be more inline with current day thinking.  We hope, after some consultation, to move towards more equitable roles such as School Counsellors rather than Faction Captains.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • the 2025 class lists will be shared via class connect on Monday afternoon 3 February 2025
  • significant time, thought and care goes into creating these lists with input from current classroom teachers and other staff
  • each student provides the names of others they can work with, which assists with placing your child with a nominated person in their class
  • requests for class placement changes are rarely granted
  • you can be confident in staff professional knowledge, experience and relationships with student placements
  • your understanding and cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated

AROUND THE SCHOOL

The Annual Year 6 vs. HPPS Staff Netball Game:

It was that time of year again when the Year 6 students donned their game faces (and possibly their fastest sneakers) to take on the mighty HPPS staff.

The big question: Would the teachers’ years of experience, tactical brilliance, and questionable dance moves be enough to fend off the fierce energy and endless enthusiasm of the students? Or would the Year 6s finally master the art of the perfect pass?

The game turned out to be an exciting display of speed, skill, and probably a few accidental high-fives.

In the end, it was anyone’s game… but with some very encouraging students on the side-line, the HPPS Staff remained the reigning champs.
