FROM DR ROBERTS
Welcome everyone, especially our new families and staff, to a new school year. Can you believe it is 2025. It seems like yesterday we were celebrating 2000!!
We have had a wonderful start despite the extreme heat and did implement our Heat Wave Policy. Children look happy and very smart in their uniforms, including hats, and trimmed hair – thank you parents/carers for these.

We were delighted to see so many family members and friends attend both our Parent Information Evening and the Welcome Picnic yesterday evening. The weather was kind to us, in fact, a bit cold, and it was such a joy talking to parents and children in the relaxed and informal setting. I sincerely thank staff members who were able to attend and Mr Beard for coming and helping on the evening. We hope the event was fun for all and thank you for continuing to make our school the respectful and friendly environment it is. The cake was delicious!! (Purchased from Krusty Kob, Warwick). Thank you P&C for organising the food trucks – a great addition to our fabulous evening.
Many commented on how settled and happy their children are. For that I thank our dedicated and professional staff who spent many “holiday” hours preparing for the start of the school year.
The P&C AGM will be held on Wednesday 5 March at 7:00pm in the Hawker Hub. We hope to see many new and familiar faces join this amazing group of parents who work tirelessly for the benefit of all our students.

SCHOOL PROCESSES
Student Update Forms
This year we will be streamlining our Student Update form process. Instead of a booklet with several forms to sign and return, we have printed single update forms indicating your students’ current permissions that were signed on enrolment or updated last year.
Please return these to your class teacher by Friday 14 February.
If you would like to change any of these, please mark your changes on the purple sheet.
Explanations:
UDI = User Defined Indicators
Online services account (yr 4 to 6 only) = permission to have a student education email
Viewing consent = Consent for student to watch PG rated video/s with supervision
ICT acceptable usage agreement (yr 4 to 6 only) = Agree to use Department online services appropriately
Permission to publish append F = Facebook permission
If you would like further information about any of these fields, please visit: https://hawkerparkps.wa.edu.au/enrolments/
Swimming Lessons 2025
For your information and planning, Swimming lessons will be in week 7 (24 to 28 November) and week 8 (1 to 5 December) of Term 4, 2025.
Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy ECU Students
As we had last year, Fariha and Tshering, our 2025 student Counsellors are Hinali Mandalia and Michael Griffin. Both Hinali and Michael will be at the school every Thursday for the whole year. If your child will be working with either Hinali or Michael, you will be contacted first to give your permission and their involvement will be fully explained to you. Be aware you may withdraw your permission at any stage.
