FROM DR ROBERTS
I’m sure I speak on behalf of all when I say how much we enjoyed the beautifully run assembly last Thursday by our talented and confident Pre-Primary students under the guidance of Miss Germano and Ms McPhee. The theme “creativity” was so appropriate for the age group but many adults too are creative and we all benefit from their SMARTS.
This term we continue our SMARTS programme. We thank Mr Etheridge and his team for organising and guiding our students who are athletically SMART. The Cross-Country yesterday was a huge success. Thank you all involved.
We are all looking forward to the Athletics Faction Carnival Friday and hope for beautiful weather. In anticipation, we thank the P&C and all our parents for their lasting support.

SCHOOL OPINION SURVEY FOR SCHOOL AND BUSINESS PLAN 2021-2025
In order to collect data to assist in assessing our School we send out the mandatory National School Opinion Survey every two years. For unknown reasons, this survey is not available, so we are sending our own version of the survey to you because we value your constructive feedback and want parents/carers to be involved in their school. Please see the link below.
https://forms.office.com/r/yQSaYPH1zC
We request you complete this survey by Friday 13 September in readiness for our planning day on the first day of term 4.
.
SCHOOL PROCESSES BICYCLES
The school now has an ENCLOSED bike rack with the permanent gate installed only last week. Older students lock the gate at approximately 8:40 in the morning and unlock the gate close to the afternoon siren at 2:50. We thank the P&C who helped us pay to enclose the bike rack.
For the safety of all concerned, students need to walk their bicycles on and off the school grounds. They are strongly encouraged to lock bicycles to the bike rack inside the enclosure. Students must wear a helmet and ride straight home unless they have parental permission to ride elsewhere.
.
SCHOOL BOARD
We are calling for nominations for our school board for 2025 as three members will complete their term. Please consider this wonderful opportunity and thank you to those who already have. Meetings are only once each term. Some parents volunteer their expertise as a way to ‘give back’ to our fantastic school. We would like to have nominations in by week 9 Monday 9 September.
Nominations may be given verbally to the Principal; forms may be handed into the front office or sent via email to the School’s email address hawkerpark.ps@education.wa.edu.au
The Nomination Form can be found at:

SPORTS CARNIVAL
Please remember that our Sports Carnival unfortunately had to be cancelled for tomorrow Thursday 5th Sept and rescheduled for Friday 6th Sept. The program on Friday will run the same as advertised for the original event. We apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused some, however the bad weather would inconvenience everyone. The program of events for the day has been posted to Connect for you to use on the day.
